This match was the major highlight of the Yonex French Open 2011.

This meant that Lee Chong Wei had lost 2 consecutive finals in the OSIM BWF tournaments.
Could Chen Long Cause Another Upset?
Badminton fans were really uncertain on whether Chen Long would defeat Lee Chong Wei for the third time. Malaysian fans were definitely concerned.
Prior to this match, Lee Chong Wei had reached the finals of every tournament he played in 2011.
This meant that if he had lost this match to Chen Long, it would be the first time Lee Chong Wei would get knocked out in the semi finals.
Hard Fought Battle
Fortunately for the Malaysian, Chong Wei had proved his number 1 ranking by beating Chen Long. This also ended Chen Long’s winning spree against him.
This was fought in 3 thrilling badminton games at the score of 23-21, 17-21, and 21-15.
Lee Chong Wei managed to keep calm in this match.
He had more variations in his shots. He also played a few impressive deceptive shots, which managed to put Chen Long out of position most of the time.
The only problem with the world no.1 was that he wasn’t really confident at the front of the court. Chong Wei made a couple of unforced errors at the net area throughout the match.
Overall, this match is worth watching again.
