Taufik Hidayat vs Boonsak Ponsana
Watch the French Super Series 2010 semi finals, between Taufik Hidayat and Boonsak Ponsana.
Taufik was dominating the rallies in the 2 games. He made Boonsak run a lot by placing the shuttle to the 4 corners of the court.
Taufik himself managed to maintain a steady footwork during the match because Boonsak was not able to place the shuttles to the most desired spot of the court (the baselines and sidelines), hence not able to force Taufik away from his footwork base.
On the other hand, Boonsak’s shots were fairly deceptive. He managed to trick Taufik a couple of times and forced Taufik to work so hard to return those deceptive shots.
I also realised that Boonsak forced Taufik to use many backhands in this game.
